For a long time, Linda McKown has felt that she was more. But what more? It was more something? Even as a child, she pulled stories into her make-believe world. The stories were to entertain the mind. Privately painting for years, the art world was familiar, but the real business world created the funds to live. She retired from IBM Corporation and worked a while at Dial/Henkel Corporation before becoming an Arizona realtor with a large company. Then one day, something did happen.

What triggered the emotion to write and become an author? Was it a desire for money and fame? Possibly, but more a statement so that her children would know that their mom was a bright, intelligent woman. But they already knew that fact. So perhaps it was a need and desire to express and tell an interesting story in a world that was different. It was important to walk on the stage with the characters and live. Maybe it was a need to disappear for a little bit.

The trigger to write was a weekend with my husband on our anniversary in beautiful Scottsdale, AZ. We walked into a high-end jewelry store off Scottsdale Road that had on display a forty-six-carat diamond necklace worth $250,000. It was a necklace to-die-for. I was hooked and needed to write. Not telling my husband until we went on vacation to a stunning resort in Sedona, I read my original Book 1 in a Wright Series, called Diamonds Blondes and Poison to him. We sat in our casita with the fireplace burning, drinking glasses of champagne.

But, the writer didn’t stop and kept writing five more books to the first series and more books followed.
